MailChannels Open Source
The MailChannels development team makes heavy use of open source software and from time to time contributes software it has developed back to the community. This page provides a home for these contributions as well as information and links that may be of use to developers interested in making use of them.
The Apache Cassandra database is an ultra scalable multi-master NoSQL database. We use it to store and mine billions of sender behavior events to detect outbound spam activity for sites with millions of end users, scripts, and applications.

MailChannels Traffic Control – our transparent SMTP proxy software – is built on top of Igor Sysoev’s excellent BSD-licensed Nginx proxy software. Back in 2009 when we were designing the next generation of our SMTP proxy software, we noticed that Nginx already had some support for proxying SMTP connections. The MailChannels dev team built upon Nginx, making heavy use of its ultra efficient asynchronous IO design to produce the world’s most powerful transparent SMTP proxy software.
