MailChannels Appoints Leading Security Experts to Technical Advisory Board

Technology Experts to Bring Practical Experience and Visionary Leadership to MailChannels

SAN FRANCISCO, April 30, 2007 – MailChannels Corporation, a developer of next generation email infrastructure protection solutions, announced today the appointment of some of the industry's top minds in email security to the company's Technical Advisory Board. The Technical Advisory Board will now be comprised of the following security experts: John Graham-Cumming, a leading email security expert, Justin Mason, the original author of Spam Assassin, Dan Kaminsky, a leading security researcher, and Suresh Ramasubramanian, anti-spam operations manager at Outblaze, a large Hong Kong-based ISP. The Technical Advisory Board will advise the MailChannels' executive and engineering teams on a range of technology issues.

John Graham-Cumming

Author of the award-winning POPFile email sorting program, John Graham-Cumming is one of the world's most respected authorities on email security. Graham-Cumming is Co-Founder of Electric Cloud, Inc., and was formerly a Venture Consultant with Accel Partners/ Previously, he was VP of Internet Technology at Interwoven, Inc. (IWOV), VP of Engineering at Scriptics Corporation (acquired by Interwoven), and Chief Architect at Optimal Networks, Inc. John will be talking on behalf of MailChannels at the EU Spam Symposium this May in Vienna.

Justin Mason

Mason was the original author of SpamAssassin, the market-leading open-source spam filter product, used by an estimated 100 million users world-wide. He is presently Chairman of the Apache SpamAssassin Project Management Committee, and vice-president of the Apache Software Foundation. Justin was a co-founder of Deersoft, the first company to produce an enterprise product based on the SpamAssassin code base. Deersoft was later acquired by McAfee. Mason will be talking on behalf of MailChannels at the Messaging Anti-Abuse Working Group (MAAWG) conference in June.

Dan Kaminsky

Kaminsky is a senior network security and DNS expert. He was formerly Senior Security Consultant for Avaya's Enterprise Security Practice and spent two years at Cisco Systems designing security infrastructure for large-scale network monitoring systems. Kaminsky has made international headlines on many occasions for his ground-breaking security research, most notably for highlighting important weaknesses in the widely used MD5 encryption algorithm and for revealing serious security risks within the global DNS infrastructure.

Suresh Ramasubramanian

Ramasubramanian is the director of anti-spam operations for a major global email service provider with over 40 million end users. He is also coordinator of APCAUCE, the Asia Pacific Coalition Against Unsolicited Commercial Email. Ramasubramanian is widely quoted in the press as an expert on email security.
