How to Avoid Email Blacklists

There are a few steps you can take to prevent your email IP from being blacklisted:

  • Always keep your business information up to date on your web sites and headers, so there‚Äôs never any question you are representing yourself.
  • Use best security practices to protect your email server. This includes strong passwords, closing open ports, keeping up-to-date user admin lists, and frequent checks to ensure email traffic is normal.
  • Spoof-proof your IP by obtaining an SPF record so that only your domains or IPs are sending out your emails.
  • Try to send email that people want to see. If you send too much email too often, viewers may be tempted to report your email as spam, which may lead to your email IP being blacklisted.
